Privacy Policy for Pick Pocket

1. Information We Collect

Pick Pocket collects and stores the following information locally on your device:

• Financial Data: Account balances, transactions, categories, and notes you enter
• User Preferences: App settings, currency preferences, theme choices, and date filter selections
• Authentication Data: Biometric authentication data (stored securely by your device's operating system)

We do NOT collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or crash reports
• Location data

2. How We Store Your Data

• Local Storage: All data is stored in an encrypted SQLite database on your device using AES-256 encryption
• Encryption Keys: Your encryption key is secured using your device's secure storage (Android Keystore)
• Biometric Data: Fingerprint/face data never leaves your device and is handled entirely by your device's secure biometric system

3. Google Drive Backup (Optional)

If you choose to enable Google Drive backup:

• What's Backed Up: An encrypted copy of your database is stored in your personal Google Drive
• Encryption: The backup file remains encrypted with the same AES-256 encryption
• Access: Only you can access these files through your Google account
• Control: You can disable backups or delete backup files at any time
• Google's Role: Google Drive stores your encrypted files but cannot decrypt them. Google's own privacy policy applies to their storage service

4. Google Sign-In

When you use Google Sign-In for Drive backup:

• We only request permission to access files created by Pick Pocket
• We receive your Google account email for authentication purposes only
• We do not access any other Google services or data
• Your Google credentials are handled securely by Google's authentication system

5. Data Usage

Your data is used exclusively for:

• Displaying your financial information within the app
• Generating reports and charts
• Creating backups (if enabled)
• App functionality and user preferences

We do NOT:

• Share your data with third parties
• Use your data for advertising
• Analyze your spending habits for any purpose
• Sell or monetize your data in any way

6. Data Security

We implement multiple layers of security:

• Encryption: AES-256 encryption for all financial data
• Biometric Lock: Optional fingerprint/face authentication
• Secure Storage: Android Keystore for encryption key management
• No Network Transmission: Your financial data never leaves your device except for encrypted Drive backups
• No Third-Party Analytics: We don't use any tracking or analytics services

7. Third-Party Services

Pick Pocket uses the following third-party services:

• Google Drive API: For optional encrypted backups (subject to Google's Privacy Policy)
• Google Sign-In: For authentication to access Drive (subject to Google's Privacy Policy)

These services are only used when you explicitly enable backup features.

8. Your Rights and Control

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: All your data is accessible within the app at any time
• Export: You can export your data as encrypted backup files
• Delete: Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all local data
• Backup Control: Enable or disable Google Drive backups at any time
• Data Portability: Export and import your data between devices

9. Children's Privacy

Pick Pocket is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Data Retention

• Local Data: Retained until you delete transactions or uninstall the app
• Drive Backups: Retained until you manually delete them from your Google Drive
• No Server Storage: We don't operate servers that store your data

12. International Users

Pick Pocket operates entirely on your device. No data is transferred internationally unless you choose to use Google Drive backup, in which case Google's data handling practices apply.
